To each his own, but I'll have to say I got a good laugh trying to imagine some of the discussions on this [just a] message board in real life out on the street, around a conference table, or in a bar. Thanks for that. Ha!

Yeah, really. Can I just tell this Warren guy to go fuck himself? Is that permitted here? As a for instance, if I were to say that..... not that I am saying it now, you know, telling Warren to go fuck himself... but if I decided to post something like that.... maybe there's a rules bulletin somewhere.........
You can find the rules posted in this (the Off Topic) forum at the top - it is a 'sticky.'
And no, you cannot say something like that to any member on this forum. Seriously.
Think of it like this: if you were talking at a pub, and you said something that would either get you punched or kicked out, you can't say it here. Granted, this example is a generalization... so please don't pick it apart. For something less generalized, please refer to the link, above.

Warren, quite often, has been about the idea of the well
of inspiration. I'm quite certain that most, if not all,
of his references can be trusted (i.e. critical thinking)
It was never a good idea to butcher Bill Pagel's thread. And
the rest of it was just stupid, that is, the lack of confirmation
for contributors.
Seamus Heaney recently said "I'd better watch out that I don't
talk my self into a conclusion" I don't expect anyone to
comment about why I found it of interest.
Of one of his poems, he said, it was about receiving a gift
and being enjoined to "remember the giver". Excellent motives
all right.

It's good that boards are moderated, mostly to keep grown adults from fighting about nonsense, and it's just a good idea to be civil etc. But to say that Bill Pagel's thread was "butchered", as if it's a sacred virtual document or something, that's just ridiculous. There was nothing wrong with people hanging out on the setlist thread, sharing a little time together, posting about whatever. Let's not take ourselves too seriously here. The thread was fine until this Warren individual freaked, really, and what he said about a hypothetical person having m.s., that was the only wrong comment on the whole thread. So have a nice day everyone, and yeah, this is just a message board.

Did somebody *just* delete two more of my posts, or have I *just* not had enough coffee this morning?
Was there something wrong with explaining to razz that I *just* don't know what this thread is about either? And I believe I *just* mentioned something about wanting to sell him on my vocal delivery, which was related to another matter all together... and this is the off-topic forum, after all, is stream of consciousness posting permitted, or is it *just* strictly about "everything else"? And btw, I *just* put on my pants. And you-know-who, whichever mod it is with the itchy trigger finger, knows what I'm referring to........... Let's try and be *just* in our decisions about what's deleted or not, shall we............
Re:It's *Just* a Message Board 14 Years, 10 Months ago
I don't particularly like how Warren treats me and I am comforted by the fact other people are willing to say he's a bit of stuffed-shirt, at least.
I think much of what Joshua is saying makes sense.
Josh, I think Admin just doesn't want a lot of cuss words, etc., if that's an issue.
I told Warren to "shove" off myself once (publicly), and that was when I was an Admin even.
It is atypical for me to say that to someone on here publicly but I do think it is appropriate to tell someone to "shove" off every now and then, Admin or not.
