Re:points for Tom Thumb Blues? 5 Years, 1 Month ago
if its on pagels boblinks, it counts. throughout his career, many songs have been included on the setlists in which he has not participated. to eliminate these is to rewrite history.

I can see it going either way. If we're going by any song played at a Bob Dylan concert (excepting opening acts), then it counts. If Bob comes onstage during an opening act's song, it counts. But if Bob's not singing or playing and not even onstage during a song, then it should not count. And what if Bob's backing band played an entire concert without Bob, would those songs count? I think not. Isn't this sort of the same thing? It seems he's got to be at least on stage.

I disagree. Bob I'm sure chose to put this on "the set list" for whatever reason he had. He could have picked any song or musical jam outro but instead chose Tom Thumbs Blues. Because of that I think it should be included as a song on the set list. Even more so because this was not a one off (this song was played a few times) and it is clear and distinct even without the words. What a treat to hear his band play this song. It's one of my favorites.
Also, he played dignity last night! I can't stop smiling still
Don't think we can say we're sure he wants this on the set list proper when it is so carely worded on his site -
-Instrumental "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" after encore, without Bob Dylan.-
