On September 15 Bob is coming to my town. Bringing along Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp. My son-in-law just got 4 tickets in the 6th row so we can all go. Happy day!!! |

Sadly there was no Complete Budokan in my Christmas stocking but given the price for a 4Cd boxset I cant say I was surprised.I guess I'll just have to keep an eye open online for a second hand set, I'm not sure I would splash out that much money on myself,but no doubt a bootleg will follow soon. More importantly bobdylan.com has announced 12 dates beginning in March so it wont be too long until were back on the bus again,heading for another joint.Best enjoy that Golden Bob Jo cos I have a feeling GT will be looking for it back soon. Happy holidays! I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season. Especially B6 who I?m sure is enjoying the Budokan set that BCB gave him. Congratulations to Jo for the great pics leading us to a solid 4th place finish. I shipped a Golden Bob to Jo in early December so I am sure she has it now. If not, check with the post office. I?m not sure what Bob is planning for next year - more touring, some new songs, more bootlegs? - but I?m looking forward to whatever he sends our way. |

Well done Jo,and well done to all of Jo's Boys 4th place overall is very respectable.GT has loads of Golden Bobs so I'm sure he wont mind sending one via special delivery, perhaps you'll get it in time for Christmas. Talking of Christmas in case Black Crows at a loss of what to buy me this year, the Complete Budokan set is on my wish list. Here's hoping you all have a wonderful Christmas and Bob willing we'll be back on the road together in the spring for another tour. |

That was me. The reason I changed it was because I lost/forgot my password. So I tried to change it to "Turkey Formerly Known As Green" but this was apparently too many letters to it became turkey formerly known as. I still don't know the password for green turkey but discovered that my phone remembers it. My phone obviously has a much better memory than me! |

I'm in Liverpool tonight it's June 1996 and Bob is on top form, kicking off with Drifters Escape and ending a wonderful show with Girl of the North Country.This has to be my favourite boot from the '96 tours. Alabama Getaway,My Back Pages,She Belongs to Me,Masters of War what more could I ask for .... only downside is Silvio which I'm really not very fond of. Bob even threatened to sing Yesterday but stops short and it morphs into My Back Pages. "Loving of Liverpool" on the Mainstream label is superb, the sound quailty is excellent and Bob and his band are really enjoying the show too.Lightning struck that night in Liverpool I'm glad I could be there even if I am 27yrs late |

Hi GT, my hoarding of Dylan boots has caused more than one arguement over the years,and very nearly a divorce.They're not cheap nowadays, and I hate to think just how much I've spend on them over the years,but given that a new Crystal Cat 2cd set goes for around ?35 I would guess I have over ?20,000 invested.I used to buy 2 of everything I could find, one for myself and on to sell on,and it was very lucrative a few years ago.I sold a set of Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte (Dec 1978) for ?150 to a guy in Norway (we are still in touch and his collection is probably double what I have)Crazy money, so I wasnt really surprised when Bob's people put a stop to my sales! There are a few boots I would reccommend if you can find them for sale, the aforementioned Hush Hush is highly sought after,alongside Blue Eyed Boston Boy (Oct 1994) Paradise Hawaiian Style (April 1992) The Born Again Music (April 1980) White Dove (Dec 1997) I would also say the best quality boots are either from Q Records or Crystal Cat Records they put a lot of thought into their release.There are also some fantastic box sets out there,my favourite being Ace of Clubs a 5Cd set from the 1999 tour on the Wild Wolf label... great sound quality and packaging.There is also a site called bobsboots which lists several hundreds of available boots but it hasnt been updated in many years. It's really amazing just how many bootlegs are out there and even if you're dead against them you have to admit .... some of these bootleggers they make pretty good stuff. |

B6 - I tried to post a week or so ago but kept getting a message saying I was not allowed to post. Not sure what that was about but I'm trying again. I have added up all of my Bob bootlegs, not including the officially released "bootlegs", and the total is -- zero. I have none. Reading about your collection has made me think maybe I should start collecting some! I do fear that even if I collected a quarter of what you have amassed that life as I know it would end. I would be spending all of my time listening to the recordings. It's got to be addictive. Discovering all the gold in those bootlegs! |

Well in my world it's March 22nd 2000 and I'm in the front row of the Harry Adams Centre Missoula, Montana with Bob with his amazing band playing Song to Woody, It's Alright Ma' Country Pie,Love Sick and Not Dark Yet and many many more great numbers (Somebody Touched Me, Not Fade Away) ..... Gotta say the shows from the 2000 tours never disappoint, Bobs voice is wonderful and the band are ..... Wow |

Hi GT, I've been collecting bootlegs for many moons now and have some really wonderful shows from the 60's right through to the Rough and Rowdy shows.I think my favourites are from the European Tour of 2000. Crystal Cat put out a lot of those shows all of which find Bob and his band in great form,but the show from Stirling Castle (Bonnie Scotland) is a particular favourite of mine as I was right up front enjoying every moment.I used to be in contact with Thin Man Records and Tambourine Man Records so I got a lot of my boots straight from the factory source, they usually only do a run of around 1000 so a lot of my stuff is really quite hard to find. I know a lot of people dont agree with bootleggers but I figure if its out there why not!I used to buy / sell / trade until I got an email from Bobs people warning me if I continued selling his unauthorised music they would sue me in court so I only buy for myself now.It's really quite amazing how quickly a recording becomes available and the quality (especially Crystal Cat discs) is mostly excellent and usally includes wonderful booklets with great photos and a concert review.Bob's own bootleg series doesnt scratch the surface on the shows that are available. I really love listening to the old "Gospel" shows too where Bob and the band are usually on fire (and brimstone)if you get a chance try and find Massey Hall Toronto "The Born Again Music" April 20th 1980 on the Flashback label .....it's FANTASTIC |

What's that you say B6 has far too much time on his hands! Yeah you're probably right, I've been confined to my home for the last week after testing positive for the dreaded Covid and although I feel fine now I still have 3 or 4 more days in solitary confinement. All is not lost though as I've been trawling through my Dylan boots listening to some great shows from the past.I had planned on cataloging my Dylan library by date (some 750 different bootleg recordings)until I got cramp in my fingers probably from my 2 fingered style of typing. Dont get old |
