We are seemingly locked in to invincible mode. The Sinatra Factor is creeping upwards, so things MAY change.

Ho Orville. Bet you didn't expect to see ME up there in the expensive seats. I NEVER get this thing right, though I seem to remember I did once get a fluky #1 in Oakland many, many years back in the days of Arthur Louie. But we are doing great right now. Just need Bob to shake the bag up a bit and take some of your selections... :-)

Crikey! That was unexpected. That's two down, anticipating a third, but then anything could happen after that. Hang on in there, shipmates!

Congrats to Bob - well deserved, I'm sure. It was not playing Sinatra last weekend that tipped the scales for him with the Nobel folks.

Now I come to think of it... it MAY be that at least the Indio gigs will be a bit different... I'm gambling they will be more of a hits cavalcade. But who knows with His Bobness, eh?

Slothrop thank you! I feel totally vindicated. "Took a cabbage into town", yes. For years I was convinced that was the line. Of course it doesn't really make sense (certainly taking a "carriage" into town is a lot more sensible)but I just put it down to some Dylan imagery, much of which I don't for a moment claim to understand. Thank you.

I guess I was much too hopeful with my picks this time, there is still plenty of time but my hope is waning

Yeah, OK, I AM asking for it. Would dearly love to hear it live, but I fear Bob is no longer quite up to doing the long, involved narrative songs like BDB or Lily, Rosemary, and the Cabbage Into Town (I'm sure I'm not the only one who hears "cabbage" instead of "carriage"), since he simply can't remember all the words (and why should he, when he's hardly ever sung them?). BDB has some of the cheekiest, cleverest lyric-rhyming of anything in Bob's canon - it's a total delight. And a paean to Joseph Conrad, too.

Yes we are asking for black Diamond bay

Ho-hum... It looks like the needle has stuck. Depending on how often he decides to let the band play "Smoke On The Water" or "Paranoid" or "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree" or "Like a Virgin" or "Insert Funky Instrumental Choice Here", it appears Stanton or I will emerge victorious at the end of this. Formula One racing begins to look exciting by comparison...

After only three gigs, it MAY be too early to make a definitive prediction, but it sure doesn't LOOK like the setlists of old that spawned this and Arthur Louie's iconic site in the good old days. Come on Bob, shake up a the bag a bit just for old times' sake, alright? We're not exactly asking for Black Diamond Bay, after all, though that would be nice, too.
