Bob's "Co-Written" Songs 4 Weeks ago
I'm wondering if anyone (except Bob and his co-writers) really know who wrote what lyric-wise.

I'm thinking of Don DeVito, and Robert Hunter and Sam Shepard....those songs....

All I know for sure about Henry Porter is that I have/want to believe that BOB wrote the lines:

"Strange how people who suffer together have stronger connections

than people who are most content!".

Well, it's a great line, whether Shephardic or Dylanesque.

"Meet me (please do) at the bottom, (mama)
Don't you dare lag behind"

There's a fantastic long interview with Jacques Levi about who wrote what on the Desire songs. Someone here kindly sent it to me a few years back but I can't find it now - it is absolutely fascinating stuff.

Well, hopefully someone can reprint that here!

In the meantime, WHO wrote the great song "Forgetful Heart"?.

Its a ball of confusion to me-----here on my birthday!!!! SURPRISE!!!!!!

End of thread comment--->>>>>>>>>

I got nothin! Except it looks like Bob is going to be on one of his big EUROPE tours this year, except for possibly a little North America in the WINTRY months of 2019.

Fare thee well!!!!!!!!

That's a completely different thing, Warren, and it's brilliant! Thank you for finding it, fascinating stuff. Great to discover that there's still stuff like that out there (that I haven't previously come across!).

Derek, I don't know if you picked up on the video that it was "Part 2." There are 9 Parts, altogether, as far as I know. A quick search will locate them all. Here's Part 1:

Yes, thanks Warren - there's a pile of stuff, all fascinating.

I still can't find the (printed) interview I mentioned but, amongst other things Jacques talks about Black Diamond Bay and how it was written to that particular rhythm at Dylan's request. I think he mentions Bob going to bed and him staying up and finishing the lyric.

Thanks for the Levy thing, Warren. I just listened to all 9 segments and it's pretty cool and interesting.

I thought it was pretty funny when he mentioned that people often asked him the significance of the "5 day of May" line and he said there was no significance and to make up their own significance----funny because my parents were married on the 5th day of May (the first time)...ha ha, I love coincidences.

Also, it was cool to learn that Levy was in the car when Bob pulled over and picked up Scarlett Riviera. I had thought that story had to have been made up!

Anyway, thanks again for the research Warren.
