Hi... I was just listening to "John Wesley Harding" (not a surprise, eh?)and then I wikipediad the album.....

Check out the list of musicians on "John Wesley Harding" :

Bob Dylan-->> Piano, keyboards, guitar, harmonica, vocals

          Kenny Buttrey>>> Drums

          Charlie McCoy>>> Bass Guitar

Pete Drake>>>> Pedal Steel Guitar on "Down Along the Cove" and "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight".

In other words, this great, underestimated album is mainly Bob and a great drummer and great bass player.

I love this album. Any of you, too? No need to respond....

Make-believe freindships on "Facebook" or such are weird to me.

          But, (I forgot!!).....THIS is a Bob-site.

However, I am tired and work at 4am......byeanara!!!!

I always thought that "John Wasley Harding" wasa underrated album. The last two songs were a harbinger of "Nashville Skyline" songs.

By the way, I never saw the Beatles in the trees on the album cover.

I had never known or heard of this.

Just when you think you know most of it, or even some of it, or barely none of it...

          Great record, by the way.

It's one of his greatest albums, way up there.

Dependent on my mood it can sometimes be my No. 1 Dylan album, other contenders are Blonde On Blonde and Blood On The Tracks so it's in very good company.

          .
I recall feeling disappointed by the sound when I first heard this album. I'm not speaking of audio quality, here, tho' the harmonica can be a tad shrill at times. The "sound" that I and some others I knew at the time were wanting more of the "Triple Crown" sound. I.e., BIABH, HWY61, Blonde.

In time, however, JWH grew on me, and it contains some of my favorite Dylan songs.
