And lucky you seeing Bob in the UK in 2002! If memory serves we had to wait until 2003 here in NZ and by that time Billy Burnett was briefly on-board and no Charlie. Shame. Felt sorry for Billy - he looked nervous and was sweating profusely...

..... in 2000 I had a lot of leave due from work so took a week off work.

I was living in Aberdeen at the time and couldn’t believe that Bob was coming there. Anyway, got two tickets for myself and my wife. My friends didn’t believe me. So, I bought 8 or 10 more tickets, walked into the pub on Friday night and said, “You all owe me £25. We’re going to see Bob. The bus is arranged.”

And we did. A bus from the pub to the venue and back to the pub.

Only one guy objected. His girlfriend shut him down very quickly.

True story.

Those were great shows in Europe (and particularly the UK) in 2000. Damn, that must have been fantastic! I've got a lot of them audio or video.

That inspired me to throw on a nice comp of them put together by the Cambridge Bob Dylan Society - lovely to hear it again: Highlands, a few bluegrass/gospel songs, If Dogs Run Free(!), and that Beautiful "jazzy" version of Tryin' To Get To Heaven with the different chords. Love that!

Highlands was played at the Glasgow concert that I was at. A very rare outing for that song.
