Hi: I just came from the Italian Embassy here in San Francisco. I left them a book that I put together with all the Memorial comments about Thomas as well as the donation thread. I included the sad emails from Thomas's sister and pictures of Thomas. The Consol spoke with me and accepted the book. He said that the Italian Government has the right to bury Thomas without telling the family, the same happens here in US. He in fact stepped in during such a case and paid for the body to be sent back to Italy. He said he would call the police in the town where Thomas is, but that he didn't think he could get anywhere with that. He said if the request came from the German Consul in Italy they would help and possibily pay for Thomas to go back. Is there anyone who could do that? He mentioned the Consulate in Milan.

I can´t help but this all turns out very Kafkaesque.......
Bureaucracy seems to be too tough no matter in which country you are.
Very sad!

I had an email from Sabine, telling me she has called the German Embassy and they wouldn't help her. I am going to go the the German Embassy here in San Francisco, and see what I can do. I don't expect to get as far with the German Consul, I was lucky and the Italian Official was a big music fan and liked Bob a lot. He understood Tom's lifestyle and was not critical. But it is worth a try. I was lucky and got invited into the palatial residence, from outside in the counter area. I was officially on Italian soil, at least for 30 minutes - with the dollar the way it is, probably my last trip to Italy.

For sure BD played that before!
Don't interpret too much in changing lyrics
That's right. BD sang that before.
Thanks Sam.
Just listen to the Tallin-Show for example.
Give the paranoia no chance
I used the official lyrics page as source so it was really easy to interpret the thing into it without taking more time and listen other versions more carefully - like Tallin - to compare... thanks for clearing it up!

I visited both the German and Italian Embassies in London this morning.
I was not invited inside and I was not allowed to leave my folder of print-outs from The Never Ending Pool ! I was disappointed but not necessarily surprised.
The German Embassy said (while I'm on the steps outside) that the "department" I needed was "closed" when I asked the opening times - they were not forthcoming, it was suggested I post the folder. He said the department was down a small mews next to the main building - I went down there and a couple were talking to someone at the door , when they finished I explained the story to the lady who said she was not allowed to take the folder !
It was similar at the Italian Embassy although I only spoke to one person, who would not take the folder either.
I wondered if anyone has emailed any Embassies ?

Ah? Baron would have a sister in England??
I think this kind of case has more to do with a consulat than with an ambassy: The ambassy deals with diplomatic missions between the two countries, while the consulat is more concerned with personnal stories like this one. The consulat is supposed to be in charge of giving informations to the famillies if i'm not mistaken.
And you know, when you have to bother an administration, it's always better to give the folders in the hand, to someone who looks in your eyes, and who listen to you. If they don't even want to take the document, don't imagine that they will read the mails carefully..

It means that she won´t accept Thomas´ heirship.
The german word for it is "Erbschaft".

Once the police have fully investigated and, presumably, the driver has be found to have caused his death, surely the driver's (or whom he worked for) insurance company should pay for Thomas to be taken home ?

It seems that things are not that easy...
The german consulate in Milano can not bring any financial help neither. And he didn't give any information.
pfff! If someone has an idea..

Michele has called the police official responsable of the case, and maybe (a very little maybe) he can help.
Thomas' body is still in italy, not burried yet.
The police needs a few informations:
What was the brand model color of his car? I know he got a new one recently, and someone has probabely seen his car on tour and could answer..
Has someone seen him AFTER his last show, when he was in Italy?
The policeman also asked about Thomas exact job.
So if you know anything, it would be helpful, and could accelerate the investigations, (and increase the good willing of the policeman..)
