Peter O'Toole announced yesterday that he is retiring at age 80. Hopefully he'll reconsider but anyway for the last few weeks I had been occasionally searching youtube for a good movie clip of him (because I love him so much, of course) but hadn't found any good ones... So I'm going with this Letterman clip for now.

O'Toole is one of the "coolest" guys who ever lived. What a voice. Letterman called him a "racontouer"(sp?) and he truly is one of the best I've ever heard. I was looking for his "Father Christmas" story from an older Letterman episode but couldn't find it..It was so hilarious...maybe I'll find it later. Anyway, hooray for Peter O'Toole.

With Shakespeare up our alley these days here's a Shakespeare-related scene from David Lynch's beautiful and amazing movie "The Elephant Man"--(This scene features Anne Bancroft and the fantastic John Hurt[whose loss to DeNiro for Best Actor that year I'm still bitter about][get a life, I know])----->>>>

Enjoyed this one a lot: 7 Psychos
Tom Waits plays in it, rather funny, always carrying a white rabbit with him.

Good soundtrack by the way:

Okay----I haven't seen "Marcol" yet, so I can't be sure it will be good....but I bet it will.

What I HAVE seen (and it's on again right now) is "ISLE OF DOGS".... You (I'm talking to YOU)...should see it.

But, it's up to you.

Fare thee well!

So... movies are so great as an art form because YOU are locked-in for 2 hours or so...WATCHING SOMETHING with no interruption.

MUSIC!!!!!(I say) is the greatest art though. Because you don't have to read or comprehend a movie plot. All you have to do is HEAR the music. On a Bob-song, you may not comprehend /decipher the words that Bob is warbling, BUT you do FEEL BABY FEEL that vibe that the TUNE brings and if he plays harmonica then---halleluyah

In conclusion--haha--I'm gonna have to let you go....

OOOPPPSSS...
Movie-wise, I forgot to mention that the movie on TV now is called :"The Cider House Rules". I've never seen the movie straight-thru, but I think it's pretty good.

TMI----->>>>>> ???????
