Thanks, ian, I agree about the groove. Nice to see you around, and I hope you like your new setting.

Here's my favorite Staples song off their fist album (1959). I may have posted it as an MP3, years ago.

"Going Away"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8-qaLuEdz8

Pop Staples had a unique guitar sound. I wonder what kind of duet he and Rosetta Tharpe might have conjured up.

I also wonder if anyone around here ever saw Tharpe perform. clair?

This is a classic vintage Fountain (and the Blind Boys of Alabama) performance:

Hi Warren,
Yes, saw that.
They're dropping like flies!!
Listening to the new Ry Cooder.
Very good as you'd expect.
Has he found Jesus or does he just like the songs?
'Straight Street', indeed.

Hello Warren!....Just pressed buttons and saw one of the two (I think) videos you posted... Great...

Question: Were 5 of them blind and was the leader blind? Also, when the man sang : "I won't look back!", what Bob song is that from?.....

Well, hope you can make it to Thackerville! (ha-ha)

P.S.--- Ian, hope you are well and (instead of me googling) could you just explain where you are? (ha-ha)

ian, thanks for the Cooder heads up. Just listened to a version of the title track, "The Prodigal Son." It's here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEUIZWyieAk

Based upon this performance and "Straight Street," and to venture to answer your (rhetorical) question, I'd say he has "found" J, rather than "just like."

up to you, glad you liked the video. Four of five original members were blind. I don't think there was a leader, as such, in the beginning.

"I won't look back" is from "Solid Rock," from Saved.
