new copyright extension set (1970) 3 Years, 4 Months ago
The ‘50th Anniversary Collection 1970’ will be released on Friday for the UK Record Store Day. Extremely limited numbers (as they all have been) and already sold out.

Details: https://www.badlands.co.uk/bob-dylan-50th-anniversary-collection-1970-3cd-set/

Track listing (scroll down): https://www.searchingforagem.com/2020s/2020.htm

All track previously unreleased and are from the Self Portrait and New Morning sessions.

If anyone gets a download link I'd appreciate a PM!

Derek, just FTR, the 2nd song on CD1, "Universal Soldier," is attributed to Donovan. He had hit with it, but it was written by Buffy Sainte-Marie.

If you get a link, then know that a PM would be welcomed.

Anyone know why more copies are not released?

Cheers.

My understanding is that Columbia/Sony put the material out there publicly simply to protect the rights to the music. it's not the sort of thing that's going to sell in substantial amounts, so the marketing bucks aren't going to be spent beyond a bare minimum. There may be other reasons.

Cool about Garth signing your program.

Hi Warren,

I suggest other reasons. Blood On The Tracks -Test Pressing was 5,000 copies, not cheap, and wasn’t easy to get hold of.

Meeting Garth was fantastic. My wife and I had meet and greet tickets. I thought it wasn’t going to go very well as he arrived in a wheelchair. However, his mind is still very sharp.

The programme only says Wembley Stadium, no mention of London. He took one look at it and said, “London, outdoor show. It was a very nice day.” He was absolutely right. We had a bit of a chat, got some photos and I thought that was that.

During the show he came on stage for a few songs. The crowd went crazy. He shuffled into place behind a bank of keyboards and he was a young man again. His fingers flew over the keyboards. I found it to be very emotional.

What a night for the audience and what a night for the assembled New Zealand musicians.

I’m going to a similar concert in January when a similar group of New Zealand musicians will be recreating Neil Young’s Live Rust. I’m really looking forward to it. I doubt if Neil will show up but, hey, who knows.

Cheers.
